Doctor in village.
The village
The resort of San Martino di Castrozza began as a skiing centre in
the nineteenth century and developed a reputation for sophistication
and elegance. It is surrounded by the breathtaking peaks of the
Dolomites. Situated on a sunny plateau the village is surrounded by
pine clad mountains that form part of a national park.
San Martino has all the charm that you would expect of an established
mountain resort with plenty of shops, cafes bars and restaurants to
indulge in. This is a lively resort that is friendly and welcoming and
has a distinctly Italian character.
The skiing
San Martiino di Castrozza is part of the vast Dolomiti Superski
region that comprises 12 linked valleys. The immediate ski area
comprises San Martino and Passo di Rolle. Here there are 60km
pistes which include nursery runs near the village where progress
is rapid and a selection of more challenging blue and red runs on
the Colverde area. The area has an excellent snow record which
is supplemented by sNow making facilities across 95% of the
area ensuring guaranteed snow.
