France: Valloire - Extensive skiing in the Galibier-Thabor ski area.
The resort
Valloire is a traditional rustic French resort situated at the crossroads where the Northern and Southern Alps meet. The village nestles around a 17th century Baroque church and the laid back charm ensures a relaxed and friendly village atmosphere. It is an ideal resort for families and people looking at a no-frills, but good value for money resort. Although small, the resort of Valloire offers a chilled out but lively atmosphere in the evenings. Whether you want to eat some local 'savoyarde' specialities such as fondue, and raclette or a variety of Italian dishes, it's all there.
The skiing
Valloire is rightly recognised internationally as an excellent ski region. With 150km of well groomed piste linked to nearby Valmeinier and 70 per cent of the domain above 2000 metres, 350 snow cannons and predominantly North facing slopes, snow conditions are first class. The lightly wooded terrain is varied and some of the runs are as long as 1,000 vertical metres. There is an above average choice of runs for beginners both for starting and progressing. They can quickly get a 'feel' for the peaks on the nursery slopes around the 'Thimel' mountain restaurant while intermediates have a good choice of runs from wide reds to gentle blues. The blacks like the long 'Cascade' will test many experienced skiers. There is also a Snow Park & half-pipe.

The accommodation
We have teamed up with UCPA who have 20 years of experience in the provision of holidays for groups. Rooms are multi-bedded for students and twin/single for teachers and drivers. The centre has large and there is a games area with PS2, table tennis and table football.
Apres-ski
Is varied. In addition to the facilities at the centre, there are opportunities for bowling, skating, swimming, quiz etc.
