France: Chamrousse
New Resort - Easily Accessible Skiing Close to Grenoble.
In 1968 Jean-Claude Killy made history on the slopes of Chamrousse with 3 Olympic gold medals. Since
that time the resort has lost nothing of its fascination. Chamrousse offers fantastic descents for ski
experts but also perfect slopes for beginners and snowboarders.
Chamrousse is located 30 km east of Grenoble and is mainly known due to the Olympic Games but also
as a stage location of the Tour de France. The westward exposure of the town guarantees not only
excellent snow but also a lot of sun in the afternoon and evening.
The village offers all amenities belonging to a modern wintersports resort as cosy cafés, restaurants,
pubs, discotheques and of course several shops to temp visitors.
Your accomodation...
The residence was newly built 2006 and is located above the chalet village Bachat-Boulloud. The
apartments are very well equipped and meet sophisticated demands. The residence is located directly at
the piste. Shopping facilities are just 300 m away in Chamrousse 1750 with its many shops, pubs and
cafes. The house offers a reception, pool, whirlpool and sauna. The final cleaning (not kitchen) and
bedding are included. Meals are taken in a restaurant approximately 400m away.
The Skiing...
There is a range of slopes suitable for all levels, with 92kms of
piste, 40km of cross country tracks and also a snowpark. The
efficient lift systems means that there are rarely any queues and
and in bad weather the tree lined runs offer sheltered skiing or
snowboarding. However, its proximity to Grenoble means that it can
be busy at weekends. The resort offers access to excellent
pistes for beginners and intermediates whilst there are
challenging off-piste slopes for the experts.
