Megeve - very stylish and very chic!

The resort...

Megeve is a very stylish, chic and sophisticated village which has long been a favourite of the rich and famous. The centre of the village is very traditional and traffic free except for the horse-drawn sleighs and has a plethora of designer shops and boutiques, cafes and restaurants, a perfect place to watch the world go by at the end of a day on the pistes.

The Skiing...

Skiing is extensive, 320km of pistes that link the resorts of the Val d'Arly and include St. Gervais, Bettex, Combloux and Mont d'Arbois. There is a free skibus shuttle within the resort. For beginners there are nursery slopes on Mont d'Arbois which extend to Mont Joux. Intemediates will revel in the reds on the flank of Mont Joly, the Rochebrune massif or on Jaillet. Advanced skiers will be challenged by the reds and blacks found in all ski areas. There are a total of 13 blacks in all.

Your Accommodation ...

Les Roches Fleuries 4* is in a very quiet situation yet close to the village centre and has fabulous views of the Mont Blanc range. The hotel is charming and pays close attention to detail whether you are in the Austrian drawing room with its grand fireplace or one of the bedrooms furnished in local antiques. There are two restaurants. This is definitely a resort to indulge yourself in!

La Clusaz - traditional Savoie village

The resort...

La Clusaz is a lively village with plenty of ambience and charm. The building style is very traditional in wood and there are few high rise buildings. The Church with its onion dome forms the centre around the square and its here that the colourful market is held. Apres-ski includes the aquacentre and ice skating together with a variety cafes and bars.

The Skiing...

La Clusaz is part of the Domaine Aravis with a total of 94 lifts and 220km of pistes. The skiing is varied and has something to challenge everyone. There are nursery runs on the Beauregarde and L'Aiguille with blue runs back to resort that will soon inspire confidence. For intermediate and advanced skiers the runs on the Col de Balme are certainly testing

Your Accommodation...

The Hotel Carlina 3* and its sister hotel the Hotel Beaulieu 2* are next door to each other and occupy an elevated position overlooking the village and the slopes. The Carlina is elegantly furnished with spacious rooms whilst the Beulieu is more rustic in its décor. The Beaulieu has recently been refurbished to a high standard and shares a pool with the Carlina.
