Group Skiing Holiday - France Les 2 Alpes
The Resort and the Skiing
This is a busy, big resort with plenty of shops, cafes and bars that maintains a friendly, fun village atmosphere, spread along its two main streets. Les Deux Alpes is renowned for an excellent snow record, high altitude skiing and boarding and long hours of sunshine.
The ski area is spread along a 2km valley with 200km pistes served by 63 lifts, including the Jandri Express to the Mont le Lans glacier where snow is guaranteed until late May. There are a variety of pistes which provide a range of learning terrain including wide-open slopes at village level for beginners with easy access to lifts. Intermediates are spoilt for choice on both sides of the valley and on the glacier with some steep and challenging runs back to resort - one is 14km long! For advanced skiers there are some exciting runs both on and off piste that require the knowledge of a guide. Snowboarders are well catered for in this snowboard friendly resort with a unique snow-park and a half pipe which together with the long steep runs can challenge even the expert. Certainly a resort with something for everyone!
