Cycling Holiday Touring Provence – Adventure on two wheels
Day 1
Start your adventure cycling holiday in Provence in historic Villeneuve-les-Avignon, opposite Avignon.
Day 2
Loop ride from Villeneuve-les-Avignon: 22miles. Meet our InspiredTravel.net cycling agents at the hotel to adjust bikes, get detailed Provence maps and routes. Then an active warm-up ride through the vineyards of Tavalet in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone. End the night with wine-tasting in the famous Chateauneuf du Pape (not active but potentially adventurous!).
Day 3
Villeneuve-les-Avignon to Uzes: 30miles. Cycle through Provence’s vineyards and woods to the stunning first century Pont du Gard. During the afternoon your adventure cycling holiday takes you through fields and picturesque villages to beautiful Uzes. (Dinner not included at hotel.)
Day 4
Uzes to Tarascon: 28miles. Cycling amongst the Corbiere vineyards then tasting the product of the vines. The InspiredTravel.net plan then takes us to the delightful village of Beaucaire before crossing the Rhone to Tarascon.
Tarascon to Fontevielle: 24miles. Today our cycling adventure heads south and the landscape changes to the expansive light and flat terrain of the Carmargue. Visit Arles with its Roman amphitheatre and old town centre. You will love the typical village of Fontvielle.
Day 6
Fontvielle to St. Remy de Provence - 30miles. An amazing cycling adventure through the olive trees to a breathtaking medieval village. Stop to visit an olive mill and taste both oil and wine. Night and dinner in Remy-de-Provence
A loop ride around Remy de Provence - 25miles. Discover the Apilles mountain and its villages of Eygalieres, Mounie and Menerbes (possibly the loveliest village in Provence). Visit the Chateau Romarin for a tasting before cycling back to the hotel.
Day 8
Departure transfer to the hotel in Villeneuve or Avignon station.
